Ute Strothotte

Ute Strothotte was born in Gütersloh in 1964.

After graduating from secondary school, she began a goldsmith’s apprenticeship with Peter Nagel in Bielefeld in 1983.

As a journeywoman, she gained diverse experiences at goldsmiths’ workshops in Jerusalem, Freiburg im Breisgau, Trier and on the island of Borkum.

She then attended the State Drawing Academy in Hanau, from which she graduated after passing her master’s examination as a state-certified designer in 1991.

She has designed her own collections ever since.

In her first year as a freelance goldsmith, she already exhibited work at the ”Tendence” fair in Frankfurt.

She has regularly participated in the ”Inhorgenta” jewelry and watch fair in Munich since 1997.

She moved into her atelier in Braunfels in 2000, where she annually organizes a major exhibition of her jewelry collections and artworks by renowned guests, including goldsmiths, ceramists and painters.
